  • Sentir Therapy is not currently paneled with health insurance providers.

Upon request, Sentir Therapy is able to provide a superbill, a document that includes all of the necessary information to assist you in submitting a claim to your insurance. This process allows our clients to advocate for a full or partial reimbursement from your insurance as part of your out-of-network benefits.

We recommend contacting your insurance company prior to initiating therapy to learn more about your out-of-network coverage for psychotherapy. See below for suggested questions to guide your discussion:

    • How much coverage is available for out-of-network providers? For example, does the insurance plan reimburse for the full session or a percentage of the total fee?

    • Does the insurance plan set limits on the total number of visits/sessions per calendar year?

    • Is there a deductible that must be met before insurance covers mental health services?

    • Does the insurance plan set limits on the total amount reimbursed per session? If so, ask how much they reimburse for the following CPT Codes, otherwise known as a procedure codes:

      • 90791 (the first intake appointment)

      • 90834 (typical individual therapy or PMT session)

      • 90837 (extended 60-minute individual therapy session)

      • 90847 (family therapy)

  • Sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes. Intake appointments are scheduled for 90 minutes.

The length of therapy depends on treatment recommendations and your preferences.

  • We currently have availability for telehealth services for all clients living in California via our secure, HIPAA-compliant online platform.

Please book a consultation to be placed on our waiting list for in-person services within the San Francisco Bay Area. While research has shown that telehealth therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy, we understand that in-person services may be a better fit for some clients!

  • If we have services that fit your needs, you will be scheduled for a 90 minute intake appointment and be securely emailed standard intake paperwork. Within the intake, we will gather important mental health history and begin collaborating on your treatment plan. Intake appointments for individual therapy for clients ages 5-17 will typically include the caregiver(s) and youth, while intakes for parent coaching will only include the caregiver(s). Intakes for clients ages 18-25 typically only include the client.

In therapy, a good fit is important! If Sentir Therapy is not the right fit, we will offer appropriate referrals.

  • • If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
